Coudures is about going back to nature and back to simple living. The foundational course is a combination of ancient philosophy with modern approach to yoga teacher training in a very quiet countryside location away from the noise, distraction, the busyness and stress of towns and the city. The location is in a family-run property in rural France, a 17th-century manor house with views of rolling hills, 6 acres of private grounds, a little wood at the edge of the property that leads to a lake reservoir, views of low sweeping hills and the Pyrenees at a distance on a bright sunny day. Enjoy countryside walks in the rural village, forest and lake.
Please note : In the spirit of Santosha, practising contentment and detachment, our rooms and halls are not heated or air-conditioned and food served is plain and simple.

Back to Nature. Back to Simple Living.
At the Coudures retreat, we encourage our students to embrace simple living and challenge themselves to let go of their attachments to city comforts. In the spirit of santosha- the practice of contentment and detachment, our rooms and halls are not heated or air-conditioned and food served is plain and simple (served 3 times daily).
The retreat in Coudures is a journey back in time and a return to simple living. Students are responsible for cleaning their own room.
The old house is surrounded by nothing but farmland. There are no shops and distractions nearby. The quiet countryside location is conducive to meditation and going inwards. Although we have wi-fi in certain areas of the house, we encourage our students to limit the use of internet and even go offline. We encourage silence as much as possible especially in the early mornings and evenings.
it is our wish that students take advantage of the opportunity to be in these quiet peaceful, simple surroundings to retreat, discover the inner self and deepen their spiritual practice- which to us, what yoga is primarily about.
